Easter 2008

Nana came down for a visit on Easter Sunday. We had an egg hunt and then went to check out a playground we haven't been to before. It was great! In addition to the playground there was a large pond with geese to check out. Even though it was in the 40's, we saw the first ice cream truck of the season!

Trip to Arthur Avenue

On Good Friday, Jackson and Daddy slept in while I went to Arthur Avenue in the Bronx with the girls (my mom, sister and friends Jill and Joann). We shopped for delicious eats like fresh pasta, bread, cheese, sausage, cookies and cannolis (my favorite). So much fun!

Angus the Pup

Here is the newest addition to the family. Anna and Nick are the proud parents of Angus, a yellow lab. He is a sweet boy (and sleepy too!). Check out the link to his blog on the right.

Visit to Steamboat

We've been in Steamboat Springs, CO since March 1 visiting Grandma Carol and Grandpa Rick. Its an annual trip we make to get some skiiing/riding in and to celebrate Carol's birthday on March 6. Aunt Anna & Uncle Nick came out for 5 days and we overlapped with Aunt Meaghan for several days as well. We've had lots of sun and snow - a perfect combination! The other day we took Jackson on a hike along the Yampa River. He walked most of the way and then caught a sled ride on the way back. We stopped for a while to watch a couple of Chocolate Labs jump into the river to catch snowballs and checked out some cows (and a tractor) on a farm in the distance. Last March he cried when we snowshoed this trail and towed him behind us in the sled so we had to carry him the whole way. It's a good thing he liked it this year because he has put on some weight since then!

Settled in

Finally! Things are falling into place and we are settled in. (OK there are still a few unopened boxes here and there but its obviously not stuff we desperately NEED). We are really loving Westfield so far. Here is a quick tour of our new space. I have skipped our bedroom and the guestroom / office as they are still works-in-progress. Will post those pictures later!

Come on in! The entry has a nice sized
closet and space for my green desk.

we were able to fit our red kitchen island.

The Fun Begins...

Luckily, my family is excited that we moved to Westfield.
They were a HUGE help in getting us settled and we
are so thankful. Can't wait to spend more time with all of you!

Moving is a blast! You should try it.

Luckily, Jackson stayed busy.

...and made his own "fun"

Janet, the kitchen nazi.
My step-dad George was there too helping
but I didn't get any pictures of him :(
Thank you Mom and George!

Nick and Anna, you guys were amazing! They came
the night we arrived and helped unload the truck
and arrange furniture. We love you and thank you!

We Have Arrived!

So even though he left Georgia about 15 hours before we did,
Jackson and I still made it to Westfield 2 hours before Bill.
Thank you (again) for driving the truck, Billy! While we waited for
him to arrive, we checked out our new place. Jackson had a
blast running around the empty rooms and exploring his new digs.

Jackson had fun walking up and down
the moving truck ramp.

An empty house...
Crap! We forgot the wall clock.

Goodbye 11o4 Havel Drive

Can you tell we are exhausted and
only halfway done with the move?

While Dada hits the road with the big truck,
Jackson and I jet up in style. Thank you Bill!
Can you imagine 15 hours on the road with a crazy toddler man?
Here he is on the plane, very excited for take off.

Saying Goodbye (sniff!)

So I am going to backtrack a bit and post some pictures of our move and saying goodbye to friends. We miss you already!

Bye Carly!

Bye Emma!

Another update from NJ

The move went well and we are all settled in. It was 5 degrees yesterday but who's counting? Boxes (and boxes) have been unpacked and now we just need to hang pictures and that sort of thing. Jackson is very happy in the new space and so are we. A special thanks to Anna, Nick, Mom and George for coming to Westfield to help us unload the truck and get organized. We are feeling settled and comfortable in our new place thanks to you! We will have the internet on Thursday so will post some pics soon.

Almost Outta Here...

After 3 long days and nights of packing and loading a 24 foot truck, we have left 1104 Havel Drive. Bill is bravely driving the truck to NJ tonight and tomorrow (its a 15 hour drive!). His "co-pilot" (or should I say First Officer) is Jackson's oversized stuffed bear that many of you may have seen before. Jackson and I are staying with our friends The Smarts tonight and will fly up tomorrow. It is a bittersweet goodbye. We will miss our house and our friends so much. Thank you to all of our friends who stopped by this week to wish us well. We love you and will miss you! A special shout out to the guys who came by to help with the heavy lifting - John, Kevin and Preston. I got some really cute pics of Jackson with the neighborhood kids but I have NO idea which box my camera wire is in...will have to post those later!
