NJ Here We Come!

Well it is official. We are moving to Westfield, NJ at the end of this week. As many of you know, Bill was hired by Continental Airlines on Oct. 1 and we have been doing the long distance thing for 3 months now. It has been incredibly hard on all of us so we are psyched to be together again as a family. Westfield is an amazingly nice town about 15 miles from Newark Airport where Bill is based. We'll be living in a 3 bedroom (1 bath!) apartment within walking distance to town and shops, the pool, playgrounds, YMCA, train to Manhattan, etc. We'll be 1.5 hours from my family in NY and CT. Here is one picture of our place taken from the kitchen and looking into the dining, living room and sunroom. I will post more pictures once we get there. The landlord was making some changes and painting when we first saw the place. Its going to be an adjustment but we are excited about it. Of course, we will miss our GA friends SO MUCH. Please stop by this week to help us pack I mean SEE US.

See, it does SNOW in Georgia!

We got snow twice this week. Very unusual and very exciting! Jackson is used to snow by now and likes it when we make a "no-man" (snowman). Here are the pics to prove that it does snow in Marietta, GA!

Ikea = FUN

Looking for a cheap playdate (if you don't shop too much)?  Head to Ikea! They have a great kid's play area plus the Swedish Meatballs are so yummy...

Fun at the Park

Happy Birthday to Bill!

We had a nice warm weekend here so Jackson and I were outside alot. We spent Sunday morning at the park with Emma, Claire and Sara. 

Happy 2008!

We are back from our holiday travels and had a blast in NY/CT/PA visiting family. We got to see a lot of Bill which was very nice. Jackson did all kinds of fun things. He got his first professional haircut, played in the snow, made cookies with Nana, met his new cousin Sophie, spent time with his great-grandparents, He was not interested in sitting on Santa's lap so you won't see any of those pictures but he did get some great gifts for Christmas like a wooden train set, a tractor, books and lots of his favorite things - cars and trucks.

We are out of town!

Just wanted to let everyone know we haven't been blogging because we are in NY/CT visiting family for the holidays. Bill is now flying out of Newark so we get to see him more while we are up here. We will be home after Christmas and can't wait to see our Georgia friends!

Fun with Emma (and Claire)

Here are Jackson and Emma goofing off at Chick Fil-A. They get pretty silly when they are together. I had to end the photo shoot when they started shrieking at the top of their lungs at the table...

Luckily, Emma's little sister Claire (5 weeks) slept peacefully through the noise.

Turkey Day 07

Thanksgiving was great! Bill was home for 3 nights and we celebrated at home just the three of us. We had the big meal on Wednesday instead of Thursday so Bill could take advantage of the leftovers situation before going back to work on Friday. It was so warm that we ate outside on the screen porch! Jackson loves his "Da-da" time!!

We just had the exterior of the house painted and are loving the new neutral look! Here is the "before" picture.

The Grandmas are Back in Town!

Since I had Opera events last week, both Grandmas came into town to help with Jackson. First came Nana from NY and then Grandma from Colorado. It was great! Jackson loved visiting with his outdoorsy Grandmas and we did some fun things like go to the zoo and hit the local playgrounds.

Future pilot?

Jackson tried on Daddy's headset today. He was a little confused but seemed to like it.

A Little "me" Time

I caught Jackson "reading" today. Can you tell that the book is upside down? He is really into Richard Scarry books right now, thanks to Beth and Nana. He loves Gorilla's Bananamobile the best and always asks me to find "Banna".

Jackson's Halloween

Jackson had a fun-filled Halloween as a dragonfly! We took him to a Fall Fair where he had a blast bouncing, sliding and trick-or-treating. He did not appreciate the clown at the fair entrance and immediately burst into tears at the sight of him! Luckily he was easily appeased by a tractor ride and taste of funnel cake...
