Halloween 2008

Halloween was so fun this year because:
a) Jackson is another year older and was SO into it.
b) I dressed up and trick-or-treated with him.
(Note: that is a drawn on "pilot" mustache
in the picture; I don't need an upper lip waxing...)
Also, Nana Janet came down for the night's
festivities since Bill was traveling. We trick-or-
treated early with our neighbors and then headed
home for dinner and to answer the door.
This morning we went to the local Farmer's Market and then
on a fall hike as it was in the low 60's. It was a great
time but of course WE MISSED YOU DADDY!

Fall Hike

Considering its in the 30's today and we have a
rain-snow mix, I figured I should post some
"last of Fall" pictures. Here we are on a pretty hike!

Kent Falls, CT

The annual family picnic at Kent Falls was so
fun this year. We missed Daddy, but had fun
with the rest of the family enjoying the fall colors,
playing T-Ball, hiking the falls, eating chili dogs
and drinking Bloody Mary's (Virgin Bloody
Mary's in my case...). Jackson only fell in the
water once! Not bad...

October in the Northeast

Last week we checked out a beautiful NJ farm.
It was a crisp, fall day - perfect for pumpkin
picking! We treated Jackson to cider and
doughnuts, picked raspberries, did the corn
maze, climbed the hay bale "pyramid" and saw some
farm animals. Looking forward to Halloween
this year as we will take Jackson trick-
or-treating for real. And then I will eat his candy.

This Weekend

We had a fun-filled weekend with Papa and Bernie.
On Saturday night we celebrated Papa's birthday
with the whole family and had a delicious dinner
and a soccer cake. On Sunday we went to check
out some WWII fighter planes that were on display
at Westchester Cty. Airport. They were so cool and
we were able to climb through one.

We're Expanding

Jackson is going to be a big brother!!

Poor little guy...
He has NO idea how much his life
is going to change   :)

School Update

Jackson is really enjoying school and was thrilled
when he got to decorate a sugar cookie and
bring it home to eat. Aside from getting a cold the
first week he was there (Note: he was only there
for 2 HOURS that week!), all is well! His teacher Miss
Maureen says he's very "outgoing". Which we knew.

Colorado Grandparents Visit

I'm a little late in blogging this, but Bill's parents
came for a visit in early September. I got NO pictures
of them but I know Rick got a lot of great ones. Here are
some of the things we did while they were visiting.
Thanks for a fun visit Grandma Carol & Grandpa Rick!
We miss you!

Last trip (?) of the summer to the Jersey Shore.

Carol feeding the birds at Turtle Back Zoo.

Checking out the groundhogs...

More birds...

Jackson's Workout

We'll do anything to get a nap out of Jackson...
Here we are playing soccer at the local high school.

School!

Jackson has started school! Tuesday was his first day
and he will go Tues./Thurs. afternoons. It should be
interesting b/c it kind if coincides with naptime but
a boy has to get out, right? The first day he ran right
into the classroom and didn't look back. He had a blast!

End of Summer Pics

Here are some random pictures from the last few weeks...

Uncle Mike made these personalized chairs for
Jackson and his cousins Sophie (10 mos) and
Matthew (3 mos). Cool!

Fun at the beach

Running from the waves

We went to a fun picnic with Papa and
Grandma Bernie. Jackson spent about 2
hours in the bouncy thing. No joke.
At a car show with Nana and Grandpa George.

Reunion with Carly!!

Our good friends from Georgia (Beth, Frank and Carly) were
in CT visiting family so we road-tripped to meet them one day
for lunch and exploring. The kids were shy at first but then
warmed up to eachother. Carly and Jackson have "known" eachother
since they were 4 months old or so. Carly has gotten so big!
She is as adorable as ever and it was great to see them all in
person again. We miss all of our Georgia friends so much!

Maine trip

Maine was great. Its so beautiful there. We had mostly cloudy
weather but we still got to the beach, which was only a block
from the cute cottage Marnie rented. The kids had a blast at
the beach, throwing rocks and getting wet and dirty. Delaney
is such a sweet little girl (21 mos.). Unfortunately, Jackson is
going through a bit of an aggressive phase right now. He thinks
he's a tough guy or something and wasn't into sharing with her.
"This too shall pass" as they say...
